Comet Business Awards 2004

This was the 8th Annual Comet Business Awards held in association with English Partnerships. Launched in 1997, the awards have become the main annual focal point for the local business community.

The awards have not only served to heighten our profile within the local community but have also given our staff morale a boost through the recognition that our company has gained on the evening.

Chasestead were a finalist for their nomination in the category 'Against the Odds'. This explained how we had gone through a difficult year after one of our major customers went into administration. We explained how we had managed the financial loss and also the loss in business.

David Smallridge, Managing Director of Chasestead also had a personal nomination in the category 'Individual Achievement Award' for his work with the staff of Chasestead and also his involvement with other organizations including Art at Work, Connexions, The Engineering Education Scheme and historically Letchworth Business Club, & North Herts Business Link. David was a finalist in his category.
